I was in World Market the other day and saw the cutest doormat.
I think I may need to go purchase it now because my husband wants to just get a camper and live in that for the next year. This adventure may have just gotten a little more adventurous!
I’m game for anything as long as I can have my sewing machine and my dog with me. And my husband of course. It would definitely make the search for housing every three months easier because I would just need to find a place to park the house!
Depending on the camper…I may add a new aspect to this blog…REMODEL! 🙂
We’ve all heard the saying “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” This is something that I have just learned how to do in the last couple of years. It took me 30 years to learn that it is much better to not get stressed out about little things that may go wrong.
This morning, the first thing I heard them say on the radio was “I-24 is a parking lot.” That means that I was probably better off just taking the secondary roads in to work. I left the house at 7, allowing myself an hour…should have been plenty of time on any other day during rush hour…but not today. I knew that the guys I had hired to work with me today could handle things until I got there and there wasn’t any thing that I could do about the traffic.
An hour and 15 minutes in to the commute, the a/c started blowing warm air. I look at the temperature gauge and discover that my truck is in fact over heating…right in front of an auto parts store. How lucky is that? 20 minutes later (enough time for the engine to cool off so I could pour some anti-freeze into the radiator) I was back on the road and made it to work and was only about an hour late.
Driving home in the 88 degree weather with the a/c off and the windows down got a little hot…but at least I was able to drive my truck home and my husband is installing a new radiator right now. I guess 262,859 miles was all the original one had in it.
So make lemonade, smell the roses and don’t stress over things that are out of your control. Happy Monday!
We put our house on the market the beginning of April and are already under contract to close at the end of May. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. My husband decided that he wants to give travel nursing a try for a bit. This will allow us to decide where we want to eventually settle. We have 22 days to figure out where to go first.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with travel nursing…this means we will be moving every three months. I have been in the same house for almost 11 years now. I don’t consider myself to be a pack rat but I have accumulated A LOT of STUFF over the last 11 years.
I don’t really have time to organize and have a yard sale before we have to move but one of my friends from college just happens to be having a HUGE adoption fundraiser yard sale on June 7th. Talk about perfect timing. I would rather donate the items to their yard sale than take to Goodwill because I know that the money is being put towards their future baby.
I will use this blog to document our adventures in travel nursing and look forward to sharing all of the fun with you guys.
